CENTRAL CITY — Woodrow Gamblin, 88, of Central City died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at Belle Meade Nursing Home in Greenville. He was born on Jan. 26, 1922, in Muhlenberg County. He retired as chief electrician from Kentucky Utilities Co. and was a deacon at First Baptist Church in Central City. He was a 60-year member of Masonic Lodge No. 672 in Central City and an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Imogene McDonald Gamblin of Central City; a daughter, Becky (Joey) Armstrong of Central City; a son, Donald (Rosanne) Gamblin of Bremen; four grandchildren, Brian Armstrong, Jeannie (Dewayne) Littlefield, Erin (David) Purdy and Ashley Gamblin; great-grandchildren Camden Day, Levi Purdy and Brooke Purdy; a sister, Helen Hickman of Central City; and a brother, Norman Gamblin of Chicago. Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. Bob Lowery officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
