William Kirby Jr. BEECH CREEK — William Kirby Jr., 78, of Beech Creek, died Monday, March 8, 2010, in Louisville. He was born Oct. 12, 1931, in Muhlenberg County. He was a plumber and member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Hazel Creek Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Crafton Kirby; his parents, Bill and Birdie Kirby; and sisters, Ruby Carver, Grace Mann and Dorothy Hardison. Survivors include his wife, Gracie Yadon Kirby of Beech Creek; a son, Billy (Teresa) Kirby of Beechmont; daughters, Marsha (Ray) Curry of Beechmont and Tina Phillips of St. Louis; grandchildren, Kirby Phillips, McCall Phillips, Katelyn Storm, Kelly Storm and Lilly Kirby; a brother, Lucky Kirby of Beech Creek; and a sister, Anna Baxter of Central City. Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Casebier officiating. Burial is in Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today with Masonic services at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home, 113 N. Third St. Central City.
