BROWDER – William “Bill” Edward Jarvis, 74, of Browder, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at 6:41AM at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Mr. Jarvis was born November 28, 1943, in Muhlenberg County. He was a member of Browder Missionary Baptist Church. He was a coal miner at Caney Creek Coal Mines for 33 years, and also worked at Morgantown Care and Rehab in maintenance. He smiled all of the time. He loved his children and grandchildren, and especially his wife of 47 years, Judy. He was a peaceful and godly man, and was one of a kind. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Beatrice Jarvis; brother Cecil Jarvis Jr.; and sisters Nyla Drake, Doris Knight, Stella Jenkins, Willow Mae Knight, Wanda Lesley, and Dorothy Gossett. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy Willoughby Jarvis; son Clarence “Billy” (Kim) Jarvis of Powderly; daughter Christy Elaine (Jason) Shemwell of Browder; grandchildren Austin Jarvis, Noah (Makayla) Shemwell, Macon Jarvis, Jaden Shemwell, and Madison Shemwell; step-grandchild Reina Draper; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday, April 22, 2018, at 2:00PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home, with Bro. Jeremy Jessup officiating. Burial in Forest Grove Cemetery.
