William Marion Dukes Sr. Published: Thursday, November 26, 2009 12:18 AM CST BROWDER — William Marion Dukes Sr., 69, of 686 Morphew Lane, Browder, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was born July 24, 1940, in Muhlenberg County. He was a truck driver for 31 years with Wetterau and was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. He taught Sunday school for 40 years and was a deacon. He was preceded in death by a son, William Marion Sonny Dukes Jr. Survivors include his wife, Brenda C. Dukes of Browder; two daughters, Lisa (David) Jameson of Belton and Tina Harris of Browder; grandchildren Heath (April) Ashby of Greenville, Alea Danielle Ashby of Nashville, Ashlee (Jonathan) Hall of Lexington, Dustin Dukes of Greenville, Melissa Blankenship of Leitchfield and Nic Blankenship of Central City; great-grandchildren Colton Ashby of Central City, Hayden and Clair Ashby of Greenville and Kaylee and Jayden Hall of Lexington; a sister, Jean (Don) Davis of Crown Point, Ind.; and a brother, Wayne (Shirley) Dukes of Beechmont. Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Scott Casebier and the Rev. Travis Fox officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home. Mr. Dukes will lie in state at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday.
