CENTRAL CITY – William Allen Casebier, Jr., “Junior”, 87, of Central City, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Casebier was born January 13, 1930, in Muhlenberg County, to William A. Casebier Sr. and Eula L. Jones. He served his country proudly as a 2nd class gunners mate for the U.S. Navy from January 6, 1951 – November 2, 1954. He met the love of his life, Barbara Bowen, in 1951. They were married 61 years with three children. He was a coal miner, a Gideon, and an electrician with the IBEW. He was also a member of Nelson Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Michael; sisters Edna Murdock and Elizabeth “Liz” Weeks; and great-granddaughter Emilia Casebier. He is survived by his loving with of 61 years, Barbara Bowen Casebier; sons Keith (Janet) Casebier and David (Teresa) Casebier; daughter Sonja Casebier; grandchildren Brandon (Tiffany) Casebier, Byron (Brittany) Casebier, Aaron (Tricia) Casebier, and Katelyn Casebier; great-grandchildren Garrett, Carter, Haven, and Colin; sisters Gladys French, Juanita Allen, Retha Peveler, and Margaret Caplinger; and several extended family members and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Donnie Wilkins officiating, assisted by Rev. Scott Casebier and Rev. Alton Crowe. Burial in Nelson Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8PM at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Gideons International.
