Willa Mae Tate GREENVILLE — Willa Mae Tate, 84, of Greenville, died at 1:52 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. She was born in Muhlenberg County, was homemaker and member of Cleaton Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Owen Tate; brothers, Bobby, Glennis and Orville Ray McGyer; and her parents, Robert and Viola McGyer. She is survived by her son, James O. Tate of Greenville; a daughter, Betty Lynn (James) Chappell of Drakesboro; grandchildren James E. Tate, Jaclyn Hall, Cristen Noffsinger and Tara Eaves; great-grandchildren Brooklyn Hall, Branson Hall, Sara Noffsinger, Addison Tate and Audrey Tate; a brother, James McGyer of Huntsville; and sisters Lodell Maddox of Central City and Linda (Jewell) Taylor of Beaver Dam. Services are at 1 p.m. Friday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. R.D. Mize assisted by the Rev. Brian Jones. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Cleaton. Visitation after 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
