CENTRAL CITY – Walton “Roundhouse” Brown, Jr., 85, of Central City, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Mr. Brown was born January 28, 1927 in Marion, Kentucky. He was a machinist at ICG Railroad, and was a member of Grant Park Baptist Church in Portland, Oregon. He served with the U.S. Navy Seabees from 1945 – 1946. He was a Kentucky Colonel, member of American Legion Post 61 in Central City, a member of VFW, and a Forty & Eight Legionnaires member. He was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine Rice Brown and Rex Walton Brown; his wife, Betty J. Brown; and brother, John R. Brown. Survivors include his children, Patricia K. (Roy) Ford of Greenville, Robert W. (Karon) Brown of Beech Creek, Stanley W. Brown of Bowling Green, and Jennifer L. (Keith) Morris of Owensboro; step-son Vincent W. (Jan) Blackburn of Copperas Cove, TX; sisters Bettie Fuller of Pittsburg, PA, Shirley Martin of Pittsburg, PA, and Sandra Hill of Phoenix, AZ; brother Dr. William Wayne Brown of Beaverton, OR; grandchildren Michael (Jaime) Sullivan, Crystal (Travis) Harper, Renee (Scott) Boggess, Thomas Brown, Stinson Brown, Shelby Brown, and Ethan Morris; step-grandchildren Sherri (Barry) Laumand and Brian Blackburn; seven great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, September 24, 2012 at 2:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Dr. William Wayne Brown officiating. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery.
