GREENVILLE – Bro. Troy E. Fields, 90, of Greenville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at 4:45PM at Diversicare of Greenville. Bro. Troy was born on October 9, 1928, in Clay County, KY. He was a member of Vernal Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a Southern Baptist Minister, preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ for over 40 years, having been pastor in churches in Eastern Kentucky and Muhlenberg County, KY, including Ebenezer, Vernal Grove, New Paradise, and Forest Oak. He was also a carpenter. He was well remembered for his excellent cabinetry work and his grandfather clocks. He will never be forgotten by the dear ladies of Harbin Memorial Library and his love for reading. He was also pretty good with a set of golf clubs! He was preceded in death by his parents, Enoch and Eliza Fields and all of his brothers and sisters. He was also preceded in death by the love of his life, his gardening and golf buddy, Perl Fields, in 2013. They were married for 67 years. Bro. Troy is survived by his daughters, Linda (Bobby) McClure of London, KY, Judy (Denvis) Brown of Madison, IN, and Rosetta (Doyle) Jessup, of Greenville. He had three grandchildren, Shane Brown of Madison, IN, Bro. Jeremy (April) Jessup of Browder, and Heather (Kyle) Autry of Owensboro. He was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren, Abigail Brown, Elsie Brown, Ethan Jessup, Jordan Jessup, Bailee Jessup, Jameson Autry, and Braxton Autry. Funeral services will be Sunday, March 3, 2019, at 2:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Jeremy Jessup and Bro. Nick Holeman officiating. Burial will follow in Vernal Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday after 10:00AM at the funeral home.
