Thurston “King Fish” Lee King

March 16, 1949 - November 12, 2021

CENTRAL CITY – Thurston Lee “King Fish” King, 72, of Central City, KY, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021, at Maple Health and Rehabilitation in Greenville. Thurston was born to Susie Loney King and Noah Preston King on March 16, 1949. He was a graduate of Central City High School and was employed by Stafford’s Laundry in Central City until he retired. Thurston loved life and was well-known for his fun sense of humor and his outgoing personality. He was an avid knife and jewelry enthusiast and often enjoyed socializing and trading at the flea market. He was preceded in death by his brother, Noah Lee King; sisters Josie Elaine Snodgrass and Betty Lorene Loney; and his parents.

He is survived by his sister Lynn Noffsinger (Charles Thomas) of Murfreesboro, TN; brother Noah Preston King of Owensboro; and many nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, TN. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.

So sorry to hear the king passed. I've known him since 1978. He sure was full of life and joy and always said or did something to make you laugh. He always had a smile on his face. Time to rest my man. Condolences to the family.

Whether you had a long time friendship with him or was a short time casual acquaintance, you were His Friend. I remember many times being in Winnie's Grill drinking coffee with Thurston, Dsvid Tunnicliff and Barry & Becky Baggett. Rest In Peace my friend. Good Bye for now "King Thurston"

When I worked at iga in the early eighties he came in there just about every day

My Mama told me that Thurston was a cousin on my grandmother’s side. I can remember him talking to her for hours at the laundry mat or down at Joe’s arcade when it was still open. He always had a knife or some jewelry to show you. Whenever she saw him walking in town, she always stopped and offered him a ride. I can still hear him saying “whoop-ha-ha” with a little laugh. It’s bee no many many years since I’ve seen him. He will be missed.

Thurston King will be missed by many. His unique personality and his ability to share his interest in his knife collection was well-known throughout our high school years. Even though many of us didn’t know a lot about knives, Thurston’s knowledge amazed us. God bless you Thurston King. Rest In Peace.

Loved this gentleman he loved his mash potatoes,tomatoe soup and pimento cheese sandwich everyday for lunch I worked in kitchen. Sending prayers to family ?
