POWDERLY – Tasia Fortune, age 29, of Powderly, formerly of Marion, KY, was born February 4, 1997. Her earthly journey ended on Monday, August 3, 2026, in Jackson, MS, where she had lived for the past 10 years.

Tasia’s path was not always easy, and there were highs and lows. She was intelligent and talented, having skipped her junior year of high school. She was also a star cross country athlete. But no matter what, she never lost her faith in God. She leaves behind a powerful legacy of resilience, rooted deeply in her unwavering faith. Even in her darkest hours, she never stopped believing in her Savior.

Tasia’s spirit and memory will live on through her beautiful children: Davion (7), Terence Jr. (5), Tristian (4) and Donte'(1). Tasia’s family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Yvonne, Davion’s grandmother. Her dedication to ensuring Davion always knows the enduring love and connection of his biological family is a profound blessing to us all.

Tasia is also survived by her parents, Christy Spivey and Tony Fortune; her sister and brother, Latoni Fortune and Tremaine (Lovan) Fortune; her nieces and nephews, RoMoni, Iva, Joshua, RheaLenae, Kaomi and one on the way, gender unknown; her grandmother, Angie Rorer; and many aunts, uncles, and extended family members who all loved her deeply.

She was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Etta and Earl Hocker, and William Darnell; and her great-grandfather, Bobby Williamson.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Ricky T. Hill officiating.  Burial in West End Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 3-8PM and Saturday after 8:00AM at the funeral home.  The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Tasia Fortune Memorial Fund, c/o Tucker Funeral Home, P.O.
