GREENVILLE – Sylvia Katherine Bowers Day Knight, 78, of Greenville, died Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 6:20AM at Maple Health and Rehabilitation in Greenville.  Mrs. Knight was born April 1, 1945, in Dearborn, Michigan.  She was a Postmaster replacement at Beech Creek Post Office, and also worked as a nurse aide at Maple Manor Nursing Home.  Mrs. Knight was a graduate of Hughes-Kirk High School, and later attended Western Kentucky University.  She was a member of Second Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Margie Bowers; brothers, Joe Vernon Bowers and Eddie Bowers; and first husband, Charles Douglas Day.

She is survived by her children, Susanne (Tom) Dorris, Jeff Day, and Jerry (Bethany) Knight; grandchildren, Stephanie Roberts, Jesse Dorris, Kamden Knight, and Kaylor Knight; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold Ray Bowers and David Bowers; and sister, Cindy Shepherd.

Graveside funeral services will be Friday, February 23, 2024, at 12:00 noon at Old Jackson Cemetery in Greenville, with Bro. Bob Thurman officiating.  Burial to follow.  Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
