I am so sorry in the passing of dear Shirley. She was always so kind to me and my family. Of course Darrell was like my Dad best friend and they were just like distance family you didn’t see all the time for me. But when I did see Shirley always hug me and ask how we were all doing. I know Barry and shea grew closer and loved you all too. . She was a good person and friend to mom. They are having a great reunion in heaven. Hugs love and prayers to you all Gina Davis

Thinking of your families and prayers for comfort and peace during this difficult time. When I read the obituary, I noticed a name that seemed very familiar to me-------Laurie Heltsley. I coached girls' basketball at Ohio County High School many years ago and I believe Laurie played ball during that time. If so, she was an awesome player and that is why the name just "stuck" with me. May God continue to love and support your family for the loss of your precious loved one.

Enjoyed Shirley's piano playing so much at Hazel Creek. When I sang with the Quartet, Voices of Praise, Darrell was the one always making us laugh. We always said Shirley was the most important member of Quartet as she was the one who started our songs for us., will miss her terribly.
Bob Browning left a message on October 23, 2023:
Shirley was a dear friend and faithful member of Hazel Creek during our time with these good folk. How we enjoyed listening to her play the piano for congregational hymns, the church choir and Gospel quartets. I recall how proud we were of her for driving the school bus her father-in-law drove for years before he retired. Quite frankly, I don’t remember anything she could not do. She was that gifted and industrious. Praying for Darrell, Laurie, Stacey and Kevin as they celebrate Shirley’s wonderful life. Bob and Jackie Browning
