So thankful to have known and loved Shirley. One of the most independent, hard working women I've ever known. Always ready with a smile and a piece of advice if needed. She loved her family with everything she had. Nanny, you will be missed.

Hi, Bryant,

I don't know why, but I thought of your mother and googled her, was very sad to her of her passing.

I knew her - Cecil was my husband's uncle - and we met shortly after they married. She was born near my birthday and we - like my mother in law, Cecil's sister Lena - hit it off right away. She impressed me so much, I helped a little to get their trailer moved....

I think the last letter I got was after Cecil passed. I hadn't heard from her in forever, but I always tried to see if I could get in touch from year to year.

We used to live in Chicago, but I moved down here a few years ago.

I love the picture you have of her. She sure was a good person.

Thinking of you all,

Robin
