Dear Venida, Todd, Vince, and family:
I just want to say how sorry I am about the loss of Cracker. So awful to be taken that suddenly; just doesn't seem fair. You all have my sympathy at this sad time. I just wish I could be there to offer a shoulder to cry on or an arm to go around you. My thoughts and prayers for comfort and peace are with you. Venida, if you ever just want to talk, you know I am a night owl--call me anytime. You can always get my number from Kathy or Jack. Just know I love you all. Love, Austeen and Waylen James

I'm so sorry for your loss, Angie, Ricky and Joyce. I had the pleasure of meeting him at one of your family reunions, and I've heard you tell stories about him often. I know he will be greatly missed.
JoAnn Wood Wilson left a message on February 15, 2017:
I am so sorry to hear about Cracker's passing. We were classmates for all 12 years of school. I had not seen him for a few years but always enjoyed talking with him. We especially enjoyed talking about our shared ancestor. I was an adult before I realized that we were both descendants of Jacob Studebaker who later changed his name to Jacob S. Baker. My descent was through his daughter Rebecca who married Abner Wood and Cracker's was through one of Rebecca's brothers. It is such a small world!

He enjoyed talking about his sons and grandchildren. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers at this time. I pray that your memories will ease this time of great sorrow.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I did not recognize it was my friend and classmate from all those school years, from first grade all the way through twelfth grade, as.I always knew him as Phillip or "Cracker." Although Cracker usually attended all of our Hughes-Kirk 1960 class reunions, I never had the privilege of meeting his wife and children. My heart goes out to you during this terrible loss.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

To Crackers family and Joyce, I am so sorry for your loss. I had not seen Cracker for many years. Our Mothers were sisters and we spent a lot of time together when we were children. He always had something funny to say or a story to tell. I hope the memories of such a special person will bring you comfort in time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless and comfort you all.
