CENTRAL CITY-Ruby N. Lile, 82, passed away peacefully Friday, April 24, 2020 in her daughter’s home with family by her side. She was born February 21, 1938 to John and Annie (Peterson) Huddleston. She has one brother, Frank Huddleston, of Central City. Ruby married her high school sweetheart Connie Lile, who passed away in 1988, and she never remarried. Connie and Ruby raised their children in church (Richardson’s Chapel), where he served as Song Leader and she as pianist for 42 years. They were true examples to their children on how we should love and serve our Lord. She mostly worked in her home as a housewife until Connie’s death, at which time she took several small jobs until opening her store called “Ruby’s”. She was much loved by her customers who called her “Miss Ruby”. She totally enjoyed coming to work every day with her daughter Kim for over 22 years, and loved her yard sales where she bought her “stuff” to resale in the store. We’ve heard she was hard to beat to the best yard sales, and was usually the first one there! She deeply loved her family- brother, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, in-laws and nieces and nephews. Due to the current Covid-19 crisis and the government limits on funeral attendance we won’t get to see her many friends, family and loved ones. We wish each of you could be with us for the celebration of her life, but we know she was loved by you all! Survivors include her children Sonja Jessup (Teddy), Kim Stewart and Gary Lile (Shannon); brother Frank Huddleston (Gynon);, grandchildren Keisha Drake, Alexis Jessup, Brittany Wilkins (Justin), Craig Whitaker (Whitney), Cameron Lile (Stephanie), Dillon Lile and Austin Lile; great-grandchildren Braxton Schmidt and Montana Drake, Jaylee and Taylor Wilkins, Jaxson and Aubree Whitaker, and Khylie Dukes. She was also preceded in death by her friend Harvey Shanks, who she dated for 20 years and was a very good Christian man. In compliance with health and public safety directives the funeral arrangements will be private at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. The funeral service will be conducted by Bro. Larry Shadowen, assisted by Bro. Nick Holeman. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
