GREENVILLE – Roy Murriel Covington, 78, of Greenville, died on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 12:16AM at Colonial Redbanks in Sebree. Mr. Covington was born in Muhlenberg County on August 14, 1947. He was a member of Hazel Creek Missionary Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from TVA as a Belt Operator.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Devonna Covington; children, Roy Alan (Amy) Covington, Jennifer (Jason) English, and Tara McLevain; grandchildren, Rachel Covington, Patrick Covington, Dylan (Dianna) English, Matthew English, Brooklyn McLevain, Karson McLevain, and Mason McLevain; brothers, Ronnie (Sandy) Covington, and Gary (Shirley) Covington; sisters, Brenda (Doug) Vincent, Linda Covington, and Donna Cartwright; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 11, 2026 at 12PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with Matt Reeves officiating. Burial in Mud River Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 10AM-12PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
