Roy Wayne Loney, age 78, won a race today. It feels odd to type it, even odder to say it. But somehow, that boy that was born to Kathleen and Roy Hugh Loney, in a little house in Echols, Kentucky, back in 1942, ran to them this morning. Finally, he was at home. He foundContinue Reading

So sorry to hear of Roy's passing but I know he's still happy. Yes he has worked on my tv's as well as my dad's tv's. He would be there to help as quickly as he could drive the distance. Even though we didn't see each other any in the past ten years or so he was though of quite often. Roy was a dear friend, such a gentleman and will be missed by all who was fortunate to know him. Rest in Piece my friend.

At age 24 I recognized I was an alcoholic. I'm a drummer and had been working in bars but I had to get out of them or I would die. I answered an ad in the paper for a gospel band looking for a drummer - Beechcreek Revival. It was my great fortune for them to take me in and allow me a wonderful two years or so with one of the finest, tightest musical groups it was ever my privilege to play with. Roy was one of the kindest and wisest men I've ever met. He was completely nonjudgmental of my past and he never tried to force his religion on me. But by seeing the examples set by Roy and Jean on how to live a Christian life made a deep impression on me and ultimately led me back to God I am a physician now but had he and his wonderful family not taken me in, I have no idea where I'd be today. I thank God for putting Roy and the Loneys in my life.
