CENTRAL CITY – Rondle Miller Drake, 92, of Central City, died Sunday, June 28, 2020, at 12:15PM at Maple Health and Rehab in Greenville. Mr. Drake was born November 27, 1927, in Muhlenberg County. He was a machinist for 37 years at Hannfins Machine Shop in Des Plaines, IL. Mr. Drake loved to go to the horse races and river boat. He enjoyed working in his yard, and working on cars. He joined the U.S. Army in 1945 and left in 1947, and worked as a supply clerk while he was in service. After leaving the Army, he moved to Chicago and met the love of his life, Joyce, and married her on July 5th. They were married for almost 69 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Macy Drake; brothers Buel, George, and Allie; sister Christine; four step-brothers; and half-sister Martha Parker. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Stauber Drake; four children, Ronnie, Vicki, Karen, and Janice, all of Chicago; half brother, Bob Lacefield; grandchildren Billy, Rocky, Ricky, Raqual, and Mickie; and five great-grandchildren.
