SACRAMENTO-Ronald Joseph Miller, “Joe”, age 69, Sacramento, KY resident, went home to be with the Lord on May 23, 2011 after a brief battle with cancer. Joe was born on October 9, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Herman Kent and Alma Mae Miller. The Miller Family moved from Detroit, Michigan and settled back to Sacramento, Kentucky in 1944. At the young age of 16 ½ , Joe joined the United States Navy where he served as an Aviation Structural Mechanic from April 15, 1958 to July 22, 1976. Joe honorably and faithfully served our great country for over 18 years achieving the rank of a Senior Chief Petty Officer (E8). Joe earned the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation and Meritorious Unit Commendation. Joe retired from the Navy in Pensacola, Florida and remained in the area for many years thereafter. Joe returned to Sacramento in 1996 where he met his current wife, Carol Ann Miller. They wed June 17, 2000 and enjoyed many wonderful years together building memories. Joe enjoyed reading, gardening, and building. Joe is survived by his wife of 11 years, Carol Ann; his son, Richard (Andrea); his daughters, Terry Soucie, Julie Braswell (Curtis), and Janet Mejias (Eddy), all of Pensacola, Florida; nine grandchildren, Derek, Chastity, Miranda, Jared, Brandon, Krista, Jessica, Carlee, and Joshua; three great-grandchildren, Sterling, John-Michael, and Aubrey; two stepsons, Greg, DeeLynn; five step-grandchildren, Michael, Joshua, Auna, Lucas, and Seth; two step-great-grandchildren, Lily And Arianna; four sisters, Betty Eggleton of St. Clair Shores, MI; Theresa Rust (Ellis), Shirley Moore (Hugh), Julia Devine (Earl), all of Sacramento, KY. Memorial Services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Sacramento United Methodist Church, Sacramento, KY. Tucker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
