DRAKESBORO – Roger “Levon” Smith, Sr., 70, of Drakesboro, died Monday, November 3, 2014, at 12:45AM at Baptist Health in Madisonville. Mr. Smith was born November 14, 1943, in Muhlenberg County. He was a coal miner for 38 years, and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Kaye Smith; parents Carlton and Magdolene Smith; sister Linda K. Williams; brother Billy C. Smith; and daughter Tammy D. Nelson. Survivors include his sons, Roger (Rebecca) Smith, Jr. of Drakesboro and Robert M. (Stacy) Smith of South Carrollton; grandchildren Michael L. Smith, Abby L. Nelson, Harley J. Smith, Matt Smith, and Lexie Smith; brothers Sammy D. (Tonya) Smith of Greenville and James Smith of Tennessee; son-in-law Jeff Nelson of Belton; and friend of the family Susan Mayhugh of Central City. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at 12:00 noon at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Bobby Allen officiating, assisted by Rev. Greg Brooks. Burial in Peanut Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:30 – 8:00PM at the funeral home.
