BOWLING GREEN-Roger Lynn Mohon, 58, died on Friday, April 13, 2018 in Bowling Green, KY. He was born July 30, 1959 in Greenville KY to Jane Hays Mohon and Glendal Abner Mohon. He graduated from Central City High School (’77) and attended Western Kentucky University (Go Tops!) Roger lived a very colorful and full life. He has been a volunteer fire fighter, a safety engineer, an EMT, a deputy sheriff, a merchandiser for Brewco Marketing Group, and a United States Marine, among other things. He liked reading, music, traveling, NASCAR and Harley Davidson. He could beat you in chess, poker and/or trivia. He was an avid UK fan and knew more about the Titanic than any one person should know. He never met a stranger and could charm his way into anyone’s life. He had a big personality and his stories were as big as his adventures. He was preceded in death by his parents, his uncles, Tom Hays, Mitchell Hays and Jim Hays. His aunts, Nell Bugher and Jean Warford. Also by his best friend and brother, Jerry Moore and his “sister in law” Cindy Moore. He is survived by his sons Wesley (Ashley) Mohon, and Cody. He will be missed by his siblings, Scott (Sandy) Mohon of Louisville, KY; Robin Mohon of Frankfort, KY; James “Bo” Mohon of Bowling Green KY and Betsy (Darryl) Madariaga of Bowling Green, KY. He leaves 3 grandchildren, Laken, Breck and Madelyn as well as his niece and nephew, Teegan Jane Mohon and Parker Lee. He was called “Uncle Roger” by Jerrold Moore, Turner Moore, Jordon Moore and Kenneth McBride. He was loved by his aunts, Jack Mohon, Kathy Smith, Hettie Masden and Edwina Stafford and his grandmother, Sue Mohon along with many cousins. Finally, thanks to his special friend, “Marshall” Dylan Stout. She made his days brighter. We will be having a celebration of Roger’s life, sharing memories and his stories on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Tucker’s Funeral Home in Central City from 2pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers, we request you make a donation in Roger’s name to “Molly’s Medical Fund”.
