Robert Roland Jarvis, 98, of Drakesboro died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at his home. He was born Aug. 28, 1912, in Muhlenberg County. He was a machine operator for Western Electric in Chicago. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters Albert, John, Charlie, Rufus, James, Mae, Pauline, Birtchie and Ally Gray. Survivors include two sons, Robert E. (Louis) Jarvis of Central City and James L. (Pam) Jarvis of Mesa, Ariz.; grandchildren Tammy M. Geary, Beth Casey, Rebecca “JoJo” Jarvis, Jim Jarvis, Sandi Beaman, Billy Jarvis and Kimmy Jo Jackson; great-grandchildren Justin Geary, Kristen Casey, Nick Casey, Katie Stalder, Missy Jarvis, Jenna Jarvis, Sydney Beaman, Heather Alderson, Billy Jarvis, Stephie Jarvis, Ty Johnson, Wesley Jackson and Katara Jackson; and great-great-grandchildren Rylee Rae Stalder and Chloe Marie Jarvis. Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Tim Adcock officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
