GREENVILLE – Hon. Robert Daniel “R.D.” Hulst, P. E. (Ontario) left this earth on June 4, 2019. Mr. Hulst was born August 19, 1964 in Aylmer, Ontario to Bauke “Bob” Hulst and Corrie De Kraker. He received a Bachelor’s in Metallurgical Engineering from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. R.D. was a natural leader and managed teams in both the Nickel and Aluminum industries in Canada and the United States. He worked with Falconbridge, Alcan, Rio Tinto Alcan, Century Aluminum, and Electro-Cycle/Metal Exchange. In 2000, he chose Kentucky as his home and became a Kentucky Colonel in October of 2003. He was a devoted fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays and later a devoted UK Basketball fan. He not only loved sports but also classic automobiles and enjoyed spending time in his workshop. R.D. began his journey with cancer in 2014 and faced each step with intense focus and determination. He inspired many and never failed to lend a hand to help others in need. He is preceded in death by a son, David T. Hulst; mother, Corrie De Kraker Hulst; father-in-law, Lloyd Dukes. Survivors include his loving wife, Kimberly; father Bob Hulst; sister Connie Sivyer (Gord); sister Lisa Baxter (Brad); sister-in-law Melanie Dukes Logsdon; mother-in-law Patsy Dukes; nieces and nephews, Ryan (Megumi), Hilary (Mandy), Lydia (Davis), Bob, Andrew, Brooke, Brennah, Brandon, Rachel, Victoria, Christine; great nieces and nephews Brylee, Brenlee, Jaxson, and Hartley. Family and Friends are invited to celebrate R.D’s life at the Hulst home on June 15, 2019 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the Muhlenberg County Humane Society. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
