Rudy Milchak left a message on November 9, 2020:
Ricky , Bonnie, and Gordon Harris were my neighbors and good friends from New Chicago Indiana. My brothers Paul, Mike, and I and Ricky are all Alumni of River Forest High School. Music was a large part of the fine arts program in that school.

Ricky was a great neighbor and friend. He loved music, his family, and worked on making life a bit more cheerful for everyone he met. If he had any faults, I was not aware of them.

Ricky will be missed and will be remembered fondly by those who know him best.

Rick brightened my days with his encouraging messages. His motivating thoughts often pointed my thinking in a more helpful and hopeful direction. Though I only came to know Rick in the last few years, he made a strong positive impact upon my life. I thank God for the blessing he was to me and so many others.

Mr. Harris was my first band director. He took an interest in me (as he did with all of his students) and he challenged and inspired me to become a better musician. He made a difference in my life.

I am praying for the family.

Ricky was an amazing person. I just got to know him in the last few years. He had such and great personality and cared deeply for others. A few years ago he accepted a calling to do a daily devotion and his text were such an inspiration to all. He will certainly be missed by all that knew him, as well as many that did not know him personally but was touched through his devotions.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
