Richard Doulas “Rick” Strait

December 20, 1953 - June 16, 2011

CENTRAL CITY-Richard Douglas “Rick” Strait, 57, of Central City died Thursday morning June 16, 2011 after a prolonged battle with lung cancer. Born in Oklahoma City on December 20, 1953, Rick worked as an auto body technician in Conroe, Texas before moving to Central City in 1987. He was employed by Hudson Ford in Madisonville. An avid outdoorsman, Rick loved fishing, boating, and horseback riding with family and friends. Survivors include his daughter Jennifer Strait of Central City; mother Lorraine Strait of Conroe, Texas; sister Linda Garner of Spring, Texas; and loving companion Edith Meacham of Central City. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard L. Strait.

Rick was my mate from heaven and a great man any where he went people loved him he was a great father a child could not ask for a better father he was a great brother , son uncle and friend, he was my best friend, mate ,companion he was my world and now he has moved on to be with god and his father in heaven and i can trully say that he will be greatly missed by every ones life he has ever touched I love you so much Rick and I for one will miss you greatly may you R.I.P. Edith Meacham.
