MADISONVILLE – Rhelda Loriete Staples, 77, of Madisonville, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 22, 1939, in Muhlenberg County. Rhelda had unconditional, non-judgmental love. She was a sweet, simple lady that cared for so many people over the years. She would open her home and heart to anyone that was ever in need, and she was a mother figure to so many. She was very active in Muhlenberg County zoning, both local and state political initiatives. She owned and operated Drakesboro Beauty Shop for over 30 years. She had such a special, adoring love for her family and especially her grandchildren. She was an active member of Drakesboro United Methodist Church her entire life, and was very involved with the Drakesboro Alumni Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Alieen Steed; husband Roger Staples; and brothers Ray Steed and Sherman Lee Steed. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly (Jimmy) Justice of Madisonville; son Mike Staples of Madisonville; grandchildren Madison Shepherd, Jena Staples, and Kennedy Justice; and great-grandchild Ali Shepherd. Funeral services will be Sunday, July 24, 2016, at 2:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Robert Lindsay officiating, assisted by Bro. Bobby Allen. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
