BEECHMONT – Paul Edward “Eddie” Arnold, 47, of Beechmont, was called home to be with our Lord on Thursday, September 29, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Charlene Stover Arnold; a son, Nathan (Kacee) Arnold of El Paso, Texas, a daughter, Lauren Arnold of Beechmont; his brother, Jeffrey Arnold of Drakesboro; his parents, Paul and Sue Ellen Arnold of Drakesboro; his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Janice Stover of Drakesboro; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends. Eddie was a 1981 graduate of Drakesboro High School and a member of Drakesboro Baptist Church. He began a lifelong passion of serving the community when he joined the Drakesboro Volunteer Fire Department on October 13, 1982. He served as an active Volunteer Firefighter in the Drakesboro community until moving to Beechmont in 1989 when he became a member of the Beechmont Volunteer Fire Department. During his 22 years of service in Beechmont, he has served in almost every role in the department. The last position he held was Deputy Chief, in charge of billing. He also served as a delegate to the Firefighters Association, a board member, secretary, and a member of the disciplinary committee. Throughout his years of service, Eddie took a leadership role within the department and regularly mentored new firefighters. Eddie maintained a consistent committment to the community and the department. Eddie has also served as the constable for District 2 in southern Muhlenberg County for the past 17 years. He worked closely with both the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department and the Kentucky State Police. Visitation will be held after 4:00PM Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Russ Stephens on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. DRAKESBORO – Paul Edward Arnold, 80, of Drakesboro, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at home. Mr. Arnold was born in Muhlenberg County on June 21, 1939. He retired as a deputy jailer from Muhlenberg County Detention Center, and he was a member of Drakesboro First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for nearly 35 years. He was also a member of Hazel Creek Masonic Lodge for 51 years. Paul enjoyed watching westerns, as well as hunting and fishing. He loved going on cruises with his wife of 56 years, Sue Ellen. He also adored spending time with his great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Hester Arnold; son, Paul “Eddie” Arnold, Jr.; and siblings Charles Arnold, Billy Arnold, and James “Buddy” Arnold. He is survived by his wife, Sue Ellen Baggett Arnold; son, Jeffrey (Sheri Beth) Arnold of Central City; daughter-in-law, Charlene Arnold of Beechmont; grandchildren, Courtney (Chase) Clark of Central City, Nathan (Kacee) Arnold of Oak Grove, Lauren Arnold of Bowling Green, and Trent (Taylor) Arnold of Madisonville; great-grandchildren, Asher Clark and Luke Arnold; siblings, Alma Johnson of Morgantown, Ruby Newton of Owensboro, Lois Arnold of Central City, and David Arnold of Cadiz; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at 10:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Russ Stephens officiating, assisted by Rev. Tom Stovall.
