Bud Newton left a message on December 10, 2019:
Aunt Sue, Jeff,
Uncle Paul's passing is truly saddening. While he has not been well for some time, losing someone so special is never easy. Paul is now with our lord. My prayers will be for loved ones who are still here to mourn this loss. Death is always hardest on those left behind. May we find comfort in the lord and in one another.

Of all the uncles, Paul was the one most similar to papaw. He was seldom the loudest in the room. His strength was his ability to relate to people because he cared enough to try to understand them. His calm spirit had a way of putting folks at ease. He had the courage to stand like a rock against adversity. He gained strength from the knowledge he was doing the right thing and had the courage to stand for it.

We're all a little better having known uncle Paul. He will be missed.
Sincerely,
Bud
