DRAKESBORO- Norma Jean Sumner, 89, of Hartford died June 15, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. Norma Jean was born October 24, 1928 to Ruby McNealy Price and Harley Price. Jean retired from the Muhlenberg County School System as a lunchroom cook and then as secretary of Drakesboro School. She was also a member of Gospel Tabernacle Church in Russellville. Norma Jean was preceded in death by her husband, George Sumner, Jr., and her parents. Survivors include her sons, Stephen R. (Mary Anne) Sumner of Hartford, Mitchell K. (Julie) Sumner of Greenville; grandchildren, Stephen Michael (Jodi) Sumner, Joel Thomas (Mary) Sumner of Hartford, Shellie Sumner (Rick) Combs of McHenry, Matthew K. Sumner of Hartford, Carrie Sumner (Jon) Ezell of Jacksonville, FL, Kyle M. (Ashley) Sumner of Crestwood, KY, Cameron Sumner (Ben) Walpole of Lexington, Kent M. Sumner of Shepherdsville, and David (Misty) Shelton of Greenville; 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, J.T. Price of Evansville; Sister, Mildred (Lowell) House of Russellville. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 17, at 2:30 PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with Bro. Craig Jackson officiating.
