POWDERLY – Nancy Pentecost, age 84, of Owensboro, formerly of Powderly, died Thursday, March 14^th, 2024, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Nancy was born August 4^th, 1939, in Muhlenberg County where she resided till August of 2011. She was a graduate of Muhlenberg Central High School and retired from Dame Sewing Factory. After retirement, she began housekeeping for her dear friends J.& A. Stovall. She was a member of Lead Hill United Methodist Church. She was a very loving and caring daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She always took care of the ones she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Irene Tarrants; her siblings, Bob (Laverne) Tarrants, Louise (Morris) McGehee, Edward Tarrants, John Tarrants, and Dilbert Tarrants.

She is survived by her daughter, Valerie (Edward) Gilmore; grandsons Layton Gilmore and Logan Gilmore; great-grandchildren, Dalton, Jaylee, and Leo Gilmore; sisters-in-law, Ann Tarrants and Lena Tarrants; and many nieces & nephews who she loved dearly.

A memorial and celebration of Nancy’s life will be held Sunday, March 24th, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Brother Larry Shadowen officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm.
