GREENVILLE- Murel Jewel Cobb age 81 of Greenville died Friday June 28, 2019 at the Heartford House in Owensboro Ky. Mr Cobb was born in Muhlenberg County on October 13, 1937. Mr. Cobb retired as a tool repairman for Alcan Aluminum, He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he was Bishop of the Greenville Ward for 7 years and a Temple worker in the Louisville, Ky temple for 15 years. He was a Kentucky Colonel and he served in the United States Marine Corp and was an Atomic Veteran, Mr Cobb was a avid sports fan of golf, baseball and basketball. He coached youth baseball in Greenville and Muhlenberg County for numerous years. He loved his family and church and they where the center of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Alice Steele Cobb. Mr. Cobb is survived by his wife of 58 years Brenda Winn Cobb of Greenville, daughter Marnie(Les)Broady, sons, Chuck Cobb of Greenville and Jim(Kristy)Cobb of Greenville, grandchildren Sarah Cobb, Misty(Doug)Dillinger, Ty Cobb Broady, and Will Broady, great-grandsons, Ethan and Elijah Dillinger, step-grandson Chris Sparks, step-great-granddaughter Linzey Sparks, and a sister Pat Strader of Aurora CO.. Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bishop Donnie Abney Jr. Officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Greenville.
