GREENVILLE – Milford Brooks, 78, of Greenville, died Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 11:23PM at Maple Health and Rehab. in Greenville. Mr. Brooks was born July 27, 1945 in Muhlenberg County. He was a member of the Belton Pentecostal Church and worked in Maintenance for Gilbraltar. He enjoyed his time working in the garden, on cars and fixing things. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buren and Hilda Brooks.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Brooks; sons, Scottie (Evelyn) Brooks of Greenville; and Jamie (Renee) Brooks of Greenville; grandchildren, Leander, Andrew, Coty, Logan, and Noah; great-grandchildren, Kanaan, Lyla, Lynkan, Tucker, Easton, Paris, Brason, Quaden, Carter, Kason, Kamden, Ellie, and Mia; brothers, Owen (Bonnie) Brooks, and Marvin Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 1PM at Life and Praise Apostolic Church in Greenville with Bro. Scottie Brooks officiating. Burial in Jernigans Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10AM-1PM at the church. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.

Mit was awesome. I spent a great portion of my youth at his house. He always treated me like gold when he could've run me off with a broom. It always fascinated me to see him sit indian-style on the floor and work on lawn mowers, motorcycles and all forms of mechanics. He and Thelmie were two wonderful staples of my childhood setting good examples for me and providing a calm, safe environment for their boys. Looking back I think I was drawn to that. I was at their house so much they could've claimed me on their taxes I bet. Scottie and Jamey are brothers to me. I can't thank this family for how much they've done for me in my up bringing and being solid family to me. I celebrate Milford Brooks and his legacy.
