CENTRAL CITY – Mildred “Midge” Halcomb, 88, of Central City, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017, at her home. Mrs. Halcomb was born April 17, 1929, in Logan, West Virginia. She was a homemaker and member of Green River Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oakland Halcomb; son Dexter Halcomb; parents John and Nettie Shackleford; brother Ted (Inga) Shackleford; and sister Irene (Ellis) Thomas. She is survived by her daughter, Fara Stewart of Greenville; sons Darrell (Sharon) Halcomb of Greenville and Dover (Karen) Halcomb of Central City; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Bill Bursztynski officiating. Burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday after 10:00AM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
