Melvin Dewayne ‘Dola’ Stevenson CENTRAL CITY — Melvin Dewayne Dola Stevenson, 53, of Central City died at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was born Jan. 2, 1956, in Muhlenberg County. He worked for Central City and was a member of St. James AME Zion Church in Central City. Survivors include his wife, Martha Stevenson of Central City; a son, Melvin Stevenson Jr. of Central City; a daughter, Tysha Hibbitt of Central City; three grandchildren, Ares, Achilles and Ariel; a brother, Norman Stevenson of Louisville; a sister, Lori Nobel of Evansville; his caregiver, Marjorie Reece; several aunts and uncles; and several nieces and nephews. Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Browder Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
