Maxine Pendley 12/8/2008 Maxine Pendley of 818 N. Second St., Central City, died at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at Vanderbilt Medical Center, Nashville, Tenn. She was born April 28, 1922, was retired from Bell South Telephone and a member of Central City First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Pendley; brother William Hawes; and sister Betty Elmore. She is survived by a son, Tommy (wife Connie) Pendley of Madisonville; a daughter, Cheryl Jones of Baton Rouge, La.; five grandchildren, Jason Pendley, Brad Jones, Bryan Jones, Jennifer Jones and Kimberly Jones Byers; two great-grandchildren, Parker and Taylor Jones; and two brothers, James Hawes of Livonia, Mich., and Lucien Dick Hawes of Scottsville. Services are at 11 a.m. today at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Central City.
