BEECHMONT – Maxine Casebier Kimmel, 88, of Beechmont, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation in Greenville, Kentucky. Maxine was born on April 21, 1936, in Drakesboro, Kentucky. She was the middle child of George Edward Casebier and Jessie Fortney Casebier.
Maxine was a 1954 graduate of Drakesboro High School, where she was active in the marching band and Glee Club. On December 31st of that year, she married the love of her life, Jerry Kimmel. They were married 68 years.
Maxine was a career woman before having a career outside the home was in vogue. She started working in the Bookkeeping Department of the First National Bank in Central City, Kentucky in 1957, and worked her way into a management position long before her retirement. She retired on November 28, 2001, after 44 years with the bank.
Maxine was an avid basketball fan and traveled to many games with Jerry over the years. She and Jerry made many lifelong friends through his affiliation with the game. She looked forward to attending the KHSAA Sweet 16 each year and in her later years, never missed a televised Western Kentucky or Kentucky game.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Kimmel; brother, Glendall Earl Casebier; and sister, Willadean Scott.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Carr and son-in-law Jon Carr of Shell Knob, MO; grandson, Christopher Kimmel Carr and granddaughter-in-law Megan Carr of Davidson, NC; great-grandsons, Grayson Jon and Mark Levett Carr; sisters, Eileen Wiltfong and Sharron Wright, both of Owensboro; sister-in-law, Dorothy Casebier of Drakesboro; brother-in-law, Gene Kimmel of Beechmont; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 12:00 noon at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Jerry Winters officiating. Burial in Old Jackson Cemetery in Greenville. Visitation will be Saturday after 10:00AM at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions in Maxine’s name to Old Jackson Cemetery, c/o Tina Beliles, 49 Beliles Circle, Greenville, KY 42345.
