Mary Elizabeth McGee Monaghan, 91, died January 29, 2018, in Long Beach, CA. Mrs. Monaghan was born August 28, 1926, in Central City, KY. She lived in California for over 60 years where she had been a high school and business college teacher. She was the daughter of Elmer McGhee and Georgia May Allen McGhee of Central City. She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret McGhee Gill, and her husband, John E. Monaghan. Survivors include her daughters, Sally (Frederic) Floberg of Holland, MI, and Patricia (Rhodric) Hackman of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; sons, John Edward (Mary) Monaghan, Jr., of Long Beach CA, and Stephen P. (Cindy) Monaghan of Carlsbad, CA; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Memorial visitation and prayers will be between 5pm and 7pm Friday, March 23, in the chapel at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City. Burial is in Fairmont Cemetery, Saturday, March 24, at 2:00pm.
