MORGANFIELD – Mary Lou Smith, 77, of Morganfield, died Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 2:25AM at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, IN. Ms. Smith was born July 3, 1946 in Muhlenberg County. She was a Homemaker and a member of Sturgis Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy T. Smith; sister, Olivia Miller; and parents, Joe Bill and Violet Pointer.

She is survived by her five children, Terry G. (Amanda) Smith of Morganfield, Tammy L. Smith of Henderson, William Earl (Cheryl) Smith of Morganfield, John D. Smith of Morganfield, and Jonathan Smith of Morganfield; grandchildren, Devin Smith, Hillary Smith, Justin Brown, Marci Porter, Kathleen Vanthournout, Brittany Smith, and Nicholas Smith; great-grandchildren, Ariana Porter, Keyla Porter, Noah Porter, Addlee Smith, Annslee Smith, Alexander Herbare, Elizabeth Jade Herbare, Gabriel Herbare, Amilia Moran, and Ryan Moran.

Funeral services are Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 11AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Matthew Thrower officiating. Burial in Old Jackson Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
