OWENSBORO – Mary Evelyn Booth, 87, of Owensboro, died Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 6:15AM at Signature Healthcare at Hillcrest in Owensboro.  Mrs. Booth was born December 22, 1935, in Powderly.  She was a preschool teacher at Green Acres Preschool, and a member of Mercer Baptist Church.  She enjoyed teaching preschool and spending time with her family.  She was an avid reader of biographies.  She was preceded in death by her father, Lem Pointer; mother, Ola Mae Pointer; brothers, Ray Pointer, Harold Pointer, and Buddy Pointer; sisters, Jean LeGrand and Anna Laura O’Bannon; and husband, Carl Booth Sr.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Booth-Dillon; son, Carl Booth, Jr.; grandchildren, Samantha Dillon VanMeter, Tony Dillon, Mathew Dillon, Carl Booth III, and Gabriela Booth; great-grandchildren, Scout VanMeter, Callaway VanMeter, Brady Dillon, Forrest Dillon, Oliver Dillon, Avett Dillon, Samuel Dillon, Desi Booth, and Dante Booth; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 13, 2023, at 12:00 noon at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with David Anderson officiating.  Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday after 10:30AM at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
