BELTON – Margaret Ann Mayes, 81, of Belton, died Monday, April 15, 2024 at 2:30PM. She was born June 11, 1942 in Muhlenberg County. She was the owner/operator of Mayes Sanitation and Papaw’s Pizza, and a member of New Hope General Baptist Church in Lewisburg. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed her “little get-aways” with her three daughters, tending to flowers, shopping, and watching her hummingbirds. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Mayes; parents, Johnny and Laura Cartwright; son, Timmy Mayes; sisters, Anna Meryl Cartwright, Shirley Reynolds, Judy Martin, and Bettie Cartwright; and brothers, Billy Cartwright, Darrell Cartwright, and Jimmy Cartwright.

She is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Marvin) Mefford, Terry (Johnny) Ashley, and Tammy (David) Goff; grandchildren, Brock (Kasey) Mefford, Jessica (Breyden) Tedders, Elizabeth (Chase) Berry, Magnum (Stacie) Goff, Tristan (Sarah) Goff, Bronson (Hope) Goff, and Jacob (Elizabeth) Mayes; great-grandchildren, Jase, Mia, Sadie, Hadley, Parker, Kollyns, Baby Mayeson expected soon, Reece, Callum, and Addy; brother, Johnny (Margaret) Cartwright; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday April 19, 2024 at 1PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Carroll officiating. Burial in Mud River Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 9AM -1PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com
