BELTON – Mardell Dotson Kennedy, 87, of Belton, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at 4:00PM at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, after a brief illness. Mrs. Kennedy was born November 5, 1928, the sixth of seven children to the late Everett and Minnie Jenkins of Rochester. She was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church and she was a homemaker. She was an avid gardener, growing beautiful vegetable and flower gardens. Her home reflected her love for decorating and cooking. Music was a constant source of pleasure for her, keeping a song in her heart and bringing her much joy. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Noel E. Dotson, who passed in 1970, and James G. Kennedy, who passed in 2010; and her infant daughter, Kathy Dell Dotson, who passed in 1955. She is survived by three beloved children, Mitch (Linda) Dotson of Livermore, Marianne (Tommy) Spears of Greenville, and Tina (Dan) Ingram of Belton. Mardell also leaves her precious grandchildren, Andrea (Andrew) Hawkins of Owensboro, Katie (Justin) Cullen of Dawson Springs, Robert Noel Spears and Raeanne Spears, of Greenville; her precious great-grandchildren Gavin Hawkins of Owensboro, Gunner Cullen and Kemper Cullen of Dawson Springs; her loving sister, Thelma Patton of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday, August 21, 2016, at 2:00PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home, with Rev. Terry Chaney officiating. Burial in Rochester Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday after 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Rochester Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
