GREENVILLE – Magaline Plyler Butler, 87, of Greenville, died Friday, June 13, 2025 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Ms. Butler was born July 1, 1937 in Muhlenberg County. She was a member of Mercer Missionary Baptist Church and worked in the meat department at the Greenville IGA for 15 ½ years. When she was younger and well, she loved gardening and canning, working with flowers, and camping. She loved the Lord, going to church, and her family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.D. Plyler; parents, Robert and Myrtle Higgins; brother, Gilbert Higgins; sisters, Mary Rowe, and Irene Powell; and grandson, Ryan Benson.
She is survived by her daughters, Shelia (Doug) Bassett of Greenville, Cindy Benson of Greenville, and Jeanette (Dwight) Moore of Calvert City; grandchildren, Renae Keeling of Henderson, and Michael Stewart of Calvert City; and great-grandchildren, Cory Lee of Washington D.C., Dylan Lee of Henderson, Braxton Benson of Greenville, and Brayden Stewart of Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 16, 2025 at 1PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. J.W. Haire officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
