SACRAMENTO – Lois LaVerne Smith, 87, of Sacramento, died Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 2:48PM at her daughter’s residence. Mrs. Smith was born January 24, 1931, in Sacramento. She was a homemaker and a pastor’s wife, and was a member of Providence Primitive Baptist Church. She loved her Lord and family. She also loved Kentucky basketball, cooking, playing cards, traveling, sewing, and singing. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Smith; mother Mary Magdalene Graydon; and father William Graydon. She is survived by her daughters, Tammie Smith-Wilson and Melanie (James) Pharris, both of Madisonville; son John Paul (Bridgett) Smith, Jr., of Hanson; grandchildren Skylar (Ashley), Lynde (Brian), Joshua (Tiffany), Jordan (Kayley), Blake (Stormi), and Conner; great-grandchildren Dison, Addie, Makayla, Parker, Angel Brady, Kipton, Adain, and one great-grandchild due September 2018; several nieces and nephews; brothers Choyce and Billy; and sisters June and Freida. Funeral services will be Monday, June 18, 2018, at 11:00AM at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento, with Bro. Steve Whitaker officiating. Burial in Poplar Grove Cemetery.
