BELTON – Linda Jean Wells, 86, of Belton, died Monday, August 31, 2020, at 3:14AM at her home. Mrs. Wells was born September 13, 1933, in Muhlenberg County. She was a homemaker and member of Central City Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore R. Wells, Jr.; grandson Tad Cobb; brothers Douglas Ferguson and J.T. Ferguson; and sister Judy Sobolaski. She is survived by her daughter, Lynette (Donald) Cobb of Athens, AL; grandchildren Adria Smith of Athens, AL and Gage Cobb of Belton; great-grandchildren Bradon, Gavin, and Makenzie Smith of Athens, AL, Eli and Micah Cobb of Somerville, AL, and Brendon Cobb of Decatur, IL; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at 1:00PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home, with Mr. Bob Edlin officiating. Burial in Horton’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday after 11:00AM at the funeral home. Family and friends who are attending the visitation are asked to wear a face mask for the safety of all those in attendance, in accordance with the governor’s mandate.
