Linda Sue Koon

ISLAND – Linda Sue Koon, 62, of Island, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at her residence. Ms. Koon was born in Calhoun on August 7, 1963. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Reva Howard; her grandparents, Thurl and Grace McClure; two aunts, Patty McDonald, and Carolynn Littlefield; and one brother, Bobby Yates.

She held a special place in her heart for her two Boston Terriers, Bella and Pearl Jean, who were truly her world and constant companions.

Linda is survived by her husband, Joseph A. Koon; her children, Michael Howard, Monica Wills, and Crystal (Joshua) Marshia. She was a proud grandmother to Caitlin and Leaha Howard, Nathaniel, Mariah (Hunter Underwood), and Addison Wills, and Dakota Marshia; all whom brought her immense joy. She is also survived by her sisters, Ann (Darren) Mackey, Debbie Wood; and her brothers, Roger (Debbie) Fleaner, and Billy (Linda) Fleaner.

Linda will be remembered for her loving spirit, her deep devotion to her family, and the countless memories she created with those she loved. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

I remember when you all lived next to the laundry mat. Your Mom always made me feel special. I remember going fishing. I am sad to hear of your Moms passing. I hope she did not suffer. She was so young . I am just a phone call away if you need anything.
