BOWLING GREEN – Linda Ilene Loney Bandy, 78, of Bowling Green, died Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 4:47AM at the Hospice House in Bowling Green. Linda was born on November 6, 1946, at home to Roy and Kathleen Loney in Nelson Creek, KY. She was known as “Ilene” to family when she was young, going by “Linda” later in high school. She was of the Pentecostal faith and baptized in Broadway Pond. She lived most of her younger life in Nelson Creek before moving to Bowling Green in 1991.
Linda attended Martwick School in her elementary years, before attending Muhlenberg Central High School, graduating in 1964. She attended Southern Kentucky Community and Technical College in Bowling Green. This paved the way for her fifteen-year career at WKU as a Professional Administrative Assistant in the department of Center for Gifted Studies. Linda also attended Faith Bible Institute and earned her Bible College diploma. She also owned and operated “Linda’s Ceramic Corner” in the late 1970’s. She enjoyed playing and singing in church. She also wrote several songs and published a children’s book. Linda was an excellent cook. She loved family meals and reunions, anything that involved having family around.
Linda married Robert Bandy on October 9, 1965. They recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. They had two children and she had one older brother. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Kathleen Loney; brother, Roy Wayne Loney; nephew, Keith Loney; in addition to several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Bandy; son, Jeff (Susan) Bandy; grandson, Scott (Emily) Bandy; granddaughter, Rachel (fiance’ Jerron Boling) Bandy; daughter, Robin Bandy; granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Alex Green; special adopted daughter, Crystal Green; and two nieces and four nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 2:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with James Mason officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday after 11:00AM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
