BROWDER – Lawrence Lee Pendley, 65, of Browder, died Sunday, August 13, 2017, at 2:52PM at his home. Mr. Pendley was born December 3, 1951, in Muhlenberg County. He was a retired coal miner and attended Second Baptist Church in Greenville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sterlin Levi Pendley and Annie Elizabeth Pendley He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia McCandless Pendley of Browder; sons Jeremy (Jennifer) Pendley of Paducah, Preston (Cori) Pendley of Arlington, VA, and Nick (Ashlee) Pendley of East Africa; daughter Lindsey (Zoubir) Nouini of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren Grant, Riley, Stella, Noah, Adelyn, Norah, Ailee, and Surayah; and sisters Barbara Smith of Beechmont, Mary Willodean Stevens of Pulaski, TN, and Sheila Benton of Browder. Pat, I'm so sorry to here of Pappy's passing. I worked with him at Sinclair U/G. It was a pleasure to work with him. He was a PROUD FATHER and HUSBAND! Pappy has taken his big, bright smile to heaven. May God bless the Pendley family at this time. RIP my good friend.

Ive known Pappy for several years.He was always a big cutup.He would always make everyone laugh.I was very sad to hear of his passing .I pray comfort for the family.He will be missed .

My Dad "Earon Haridson" started work at Sinclair mines when he transferred from River Queen, and started working with Lawrence "Pappy". For years afterwards, I'd hear Dad talk about "Pappy', how he said this, or did that, and always told the stories with a smile or a laugh. Dad seen him a few days ago, and of course he had to tell me about seeing him, as he has done every time he's seen him since retiring from the mines over the years. Dad always spoke very highly of Lawrence. Every time I ever seen him myself, he always had a smile, and something for me to tell Dad. I just now told Dad about his passing, and it's really made him sad. Pappy was one of the rare few that I've ever heard Dad refer to as a friend of his. Prayers for the family. Pappy will be missed.

I thought a lot of Lawrence, he was a great guy. I worked with Sheila in the County Clerk's office and got to know all of the family. If I remember correctly Pat, your anniversary is December 23, 1972, the same day mine is!! Lots of prayers and love to everyone.

Lawrence used to umpire the Little League games for the Browder Yankees, Beechmont Giants, Beech Creek Tigers, Belton Cardinals, Dunmor White Sox, and Dunmor Blue Sox. I always thought he was the best on and off the field.
