GREENVILLE – Lavita Horton Nichols, 60, of Greenville, died Thursday, April 25, 2019, at 10:15PM at Hillside Center in Madisonville. Mrs. Nichols was born May 25, 1958, in Springfield, Ohio. She was a member of Wesley Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Greenville. She loved her family, but above all else she loved the Lord. She had a natural gift for music, including piano and her angelic voice. She was a beacon of hope for everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Nichols; and father Al Horton. She is survived by her mother, Naomi Horton; son Kentre’ Horton; brother Von Horton; sister Ruthie Henry; and nephews Andrew Horton and Skylerr Armstrong. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at 12:00 noon at Wesley Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Greenville, with Rev. Jewell Jones officiating. Burial in Reynolds Family Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday after 10:00AM at the church. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
