Larry Thomas Uzzle Larry Thomas Uzzle, 69, of Greenville died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born Jan. 20, 1940. Larry was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where he served as deacon. He also had been a Sunday school teacher for approximately 50 years. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and watching basketball. He was dedicated to God, church and family. He was a retired coal miner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Union and Louise Locke Uzzle. His survivors include his wife of 48 years, Doris McDonald Uzzle of Greenville; daughters Michelle (Steve) Sparks of Central City and Melanie (Darrell) Culbertson of Greenville; grandchildren Blake (Sara) Sparks, Patrick Sparks, Chelsea Culbertson, Tori Williams, Cameron Culbertson and Canyon Culbertson; great-grandchildren Addie and Emma Sparks, and Harlee Murphy; a brother, Charles (Barbara ) Uzzle of Greenville; a sister, Ann (Terry) Chaney of Graham; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Tucker funeral Home, Central City, by the Rev. Roy Finley who will be assisted by the Rev. Vernon Cook, the Rev. Terry Chaney and the Rev. Bob Lowery. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Depoy. Visitation after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
