CENTRAL CITY – Judith Elaine (Judy) Gaston, age 81 of Central City passed from this earth on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 9:08AM peacefully at Heartford House in Owensboro following a short illness. Judy was born September 9, 1943, in Muhlenberg County.

Judy was a faithful and active member of the Central City Church of Christ for 65 years. She brought a smile to everyone who knew her. She was funny, compassionate, sharp as a tack, and never afraid to speak her mind. She was an avid Kentucky Wildcat basketball fan, and some of her friends affectionately referred to her as “Judy Cat.”  She was a wonderful cook, and loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She always said her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving because she had so much to be thankful for and she could cook for all her kids and grandkids.

Survivors include Thomas (Tommy), her husband of 65 years, daughters Wendy (Al) Ray of Columbia TN and Amy (Clay) Castile of Central City. She had three grandchildren Brad Gaston of Davenport IA, Jake Ray of Knoxville TN, Sarah (Evan) Warnick of Harden KY, and one great grandchild, Nolan Warnick. She had one sister, Barbara Rosenberger, of Dunmor KY, as well as sister-in-law, Sheila (Wayne) Crist of Central City, several nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Daisy McConnell, parents-in-law, Tom and Carolyn Gaston, and her beloved son, Kirk.

We will celebrate her life on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 12PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Mr. Bob Edlin officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
