As many, many others will say too, Joyce Mason was one of my heroes. She had a profound influence on my personal and professional life. As a Guidance Counselor at Longest Elementary, Joyce knew the name of Every child. She delighted in standing outside her office when school dismissed and greeted the children by name as they passed by. By the time we met, she also knew the names of their parents (and many of their grandparents as well!) I loved her sense of humor. And many of her words and expressions became part of my vocabulary. Joyce was an incredible witness. She walked the walk. And, oh my, did she love her family! Shen will be missed. But she will always be with us. She changed her world-person by person.

She was such a kind gentle soul that was taken from us long before her passing. I have fond memories from camp meetings and how she was always there to help in whatever she could. She is missed but heaven has brought healing to her.
